Rangelands Management Course, Ruby Plains Station
Rangelands Management Course – Ruby Plains Station – 16th April 2026
A free, one day, Rangelands Management Course introducing fundamentals of land and pasture management for long term pasture and cattle productivity. The course is aimed at first- and second-year station hands, but it is beneficial to have managers, head stockman, senior station hands and other station staff in attendance to draw on their local knowledge.
Different learning styles are stimulated through theory, demonstrations and practical sessions in the paddock. The course can be a stepping stone into more advanced courses (e.g. EDGE Network) and management positions.
The KPCA has teamed up with NT Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade, to adapt for the Kimberley. In an initiative supported by the Northern Hub through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.
Who: Especially for early career station staff although everyone welcome
Where: Ruby Plains Station, via Halls Creek
When: 16th April 2026 – Start time dependent on attendee travel needs. Attendees are welcome to arrive & camp the night before, or that morning
