The KPCA’s Coordinated Dry Season Response project has facilitated discussions and workshops across the region exploring climate variability, preparedness and support regarding failed wets and dry seasons.
Activities included a series of on station gatherings through the Pilbara to discuss current needs, opportunities, and challenges. A presentation and field walk led by Alejandro Carillo, Mexican Regenerative Rancher, who shared perspectives of international rangelands management. As well as a presentation by David McClean of Resource Consulting Services on Strategies for Managing Variable Seasons and Markets.
Through independent review and collaboration with the Managing Rangelands for Drought Resilience Project a series of fact sheets were produced to simplify identifying technology and tools which may be used by producers to assist decision making for managing production, grazing, climate and seasonal variability.
