In 2025, the KPCA has been pleased to offer Pastoralists across Northern WA the opportunity to undertake LEAFlet assessment and planning. LEAFlet is a ‘light’ version of the more intensive LEAF (Landscape Evaluation and Financial Planning), which is a deep dive into whole of landscape, triple bottom line planning to provide land managers clarity regarding investments of time and money into land and grazing management infrastructure and activities.
The Farm Business Resilience Program, supporting this roll out, is aiming to strengthen sustainable productivity and growth in WA primary industry businesses through strategic business management, planning and decision making to increase resilience to drought and other climate variances.
Working with Richard Brake, of Richard Brake Consulting, and Richard Marver, of Contour Environmental and Agricultural Consulting each LEAFlet Plan is tailored to the people and property involved. Pastoralists are finding real value in the one-on-one approach, focused on their specific situation and individual skills building needs. Not spending any time on anything that is not directly focused on their property, business, and requirements.
The program is enabling family businesses access a level of consultancy which may otherwise be out of reach. LEAFlet plans remain the property of the pastoralist involved and are completely confidential.
